My first STAR sighting!

We have lived in this town for 21 months now and I have just seen my first movie star. Tonight we were eating at Jason's Deli in between our costco/wal-mart trip and guess who we saw? Kimberly Williams-Paisley. We were sitting at a booth and I saw her standing in line, she and her friends then sat down right beside us. I was probably a little too excited, because I had not seen anyone from the country music scene yet, well technically she's from the movie (hollywood) scene, but she's married to a country music singer. Anyway, she's adorable and I thought I would share this little piece of excitement. I would have liked to have taken a picture with her, but I thought that may be a little weird, well and nor did I have my camera.

Roll Tide Roll! Happy Halloween!

What a fun halloween we had! We all dressed up as Alabama fans. Hudson as Big Al or may I say Little Al and Caroline Grace as a little cheerleader. Our evening started with some chili, hotdogs and brownies at a neighbors house, then around the neighborhood we go with trick or treat coming out of our mouth about every 30 seconds. He had a blast! Half way around our little circle, he began saying no more trick or treat and daddy hold me, he was ready to come home and eat some candy. Caroline Grace did really well, she was chewing on a plastic bottle the entire time. After we got home, we unloaded the candy and sifted through it, trying to decide which three pieces we wanted to eat. Anyway, it was a fun evening on our first trick or treat night. He is three, so yes we should have had more, but the first year he can't remember, last year he was really sick so we sat home and handed out candy, so this year was his first and he loved it.

Hair Tip #2

I hope you are all doing well. I will only be doing hair tips probably once a month. I'll try more, but as you see I've been MIA on the blogger these days.
Bob it and Pony it up for the fall! That is the title of the guy here in town who gives hair advice. I agree with him. He says that pony tails are in, but to try and be creative with them. For example, wrap some of your hair around the pony tail holder to soften the look a little. I agree and also believe that in our line of work (mommies with babies and toddlers and just trying to get out of the door these days) this is a great hairstyle. Something that I like to do these days is pull my hair into a ponytail, but not too high or too low, but a little lower than normal with some of the hair going over the top of your ears. It's a sleeker, more put together look and very cute with turtle necks. If any of you are like me and like turtle necks. Yeah, this is a good season for them.
Okay, here's another style tip. Asymmetrical lengths?! Victoria Beckham. Yes, Mrs. Beckham can pull this look off and she does it very well. Before doing this, make sure you have an excellent stylist, one that can blend the hair very well, so you're not coming out looking lop-sided. In my opinion, this cut looks really good on a girl with a beautiful face and great bone structure. In other words, this cut would not look good on me. Hope this all helps and one more tip, don't just do what everyone else is doing. Have fun with your hair and your color.

A Day at the Farm

Here we are on the hayride, without hay
Here we are playing in the feed.

We visited a family farm here in town with hayrides, corn mazes, mazes with slides for the kids, tire swings, and fun feed and corn to play in. Hudson had a blast while Caroline slept most of the time. We had lots of fun and are really glad it's starting to cool off a little. Here's a fun few pictures of us.

Redeeming Love

Have any of you ever read this book? It's an old book, I'm just late in reading it. It is one of the most amazing books I've ever read. I started it this past Sunday night and finished it today. I have neglected laundry, house work, friends, my blogspot, and family. If any of you have any time and haven't read this book, I highly recommend it!

Hair Tips

This is a long shot, but I've decided to put some hair tips on my blog. I will try to do at least one a week. I am a stylist by love and trade. I am now a stay at home mom, that does some hair on the side still. I miss being in a salon and hope to go back one day. Of course after my children are in school. I would not want to miss a day of being with them.
So this is how this is going to go. There is a stylist in the town that I live who has a tip of the week in our little town paper. Some of the time I agree with him and some of the time I do not. I will tell you what his tip is and why or why I don't agree. I hope some of you find this helpful and fun to read. This should also keep me on my toes.
Next weekend I will be going to a hair show, so maybe I'll have some fun things to share with all of you: new products, styles, etc. Maybe even some pictures (if possible).
If you ever have questions, please feel free to ask them.

So here's my first hair tip. In this guys section of the paper he says this season to highlight your hair from mid shaft to ends. I disagree! The two ladies he refers to are Ellen Pompei from Grey's anatomy and Samantha from Sex in the City. I have never watched Sex in the City, so I'm not sure what her hair looks like. But I can say that for the Grey's star, in my opinion she looked really bad at the end of the season last year. I thought they had her looking that way because of her character and what all she was going through. So, for the hair, it was part of her role, not a style. A few other reasons, some people use color to give them volume. If you don't use it on your roots, where's the volume, it's all on the ends. One other thing. Your ends are usually the most damaged so why would you want to help contribute to the process? Anyway, this is my tip of the week. If I were you and you were getting highlights or color I would ask your stylist to get as close to the scalp as possible. This also helps in the amount of time you can go between visits to him or her.

I've been tagged

Okay, so I've been tagged by my dear sweet friend Amanda. Thank you! Apparently you can be tagged on here. Who knew? So here's what I must do. I must describe myself with words that start with the letters of my first name. So here's my attempt.

K - Kind-hearted or so I want to be more of this. My mom is one of those people who is just naturally a kind. She is always thinking of others before herself. She loves doing sweet things for others and giving to others. Me on the other hand am not, but truely long to be more like her in this area. I must work on it, but for now I'll just use this word to describe myself.

A - Agreeable, I am pretty agreeable because I'll usually just go along with what other people are doing. I hate conflict, so many times will just agree to avoid the conflict.

R - Responsible, I think of myself as being responsible. I will usually remember to do most of my to do list, that's because I have a list.

I - Indispensable, I hope this is spelled right. My sweet husband had me put this one on here, because he says that I am this to him because without me, he wouldn't know what to do. Thanks for the I word honey.

Okay, I am now tagging Kaitlin Graves, Paula Cibula and Tori Gray. By the way Tori, I am unable to leave you a comment. I've tried several times. Allison, I will be sweet like Amanda and leave you out of this.

Off to School

Last week was our first week of school. Well two days of school. Hudson was so excited and has so many of his friends in his class, well one that we play with, but I'm sure we'll make more. I took a picture of him and his backpack, which he was and is still very proud of. I love this school. It's so fun to hear him sing and sign as he's singing. His favorite song these days is "Awr Gawd is an aWsum Gawd, He wains from hevn ubuv, wisdum pawr and wuv awr Gawd is an aWsum Gawd." Hopefully you all can make out these words. What fun it is to see them learn and grow, and yet so sad also. Having another one makes me realize all that I've forgotten about him when he was her age. I can get really sad at times, but am so thankful that God has given them to me and I hope and pray that I will cherish all the time I have with each of them. They are His but in my care, Thank you Lord!

Friends on blogs

I've gotten a few comments from you guys and tried to write you all back. For some reason I can't, I'm blocked from your comment, so I thought I would just address you guys here. It's been good to hear from you and welcome comments all day long. I absolutely love getting them.
I also thought I would add a picture of my children here. Hope you enjoy!

Teacher revealed!

My son starts school this Wednesday, which we are all really excited about. WooHoo! He's only going two days a week from 9 to 1. Not too bad, I'm sure it will help to ease me into when he'll be gone all day. Okay, for the BIG revealing of who his teacher is. She is the wife of a member of the band called "Jars of Clay". Maybe some of you have heard of them. Her husband is the guitarist of the group. I can't wait to see what all Hudson will learn (maybe how to play the guitar), just kidding.

My son's teacher - Who is she?

I'll let you know later. It's exciting news. Well I think so, in this town where everyone's a rock(country/Christian) star(singer/songwriter).

my aunt

My aunt was diagnosed with lymphoma cancer a while back and has been going through chemotherapy. Praise God, last week the Dr. told her she was cancer free.

typing error

in my last blog notice should have been noticed and there was something else, but now that I'm posting I can't remember. I need to make sure I re-read my post before clicking my little mouse on publish post. Forgive me please.

Birthday party!

We celebrated Hudson's 3rd birthday this past Saturday and had a blast. He was really excited about eating cake, ice cream and opening gifts. I wanted to share some pictures with all of you, so I hope you enjoy. The first picture is a picture of my precious children (so I think) in matching outfits that I made for them specifically for his train birthday party. The second is a picture of Granna w/her two angels (so she thinks) and the third a picture of Hud blowing out his candles. What a fun day we had. Thank you all for baring w/me as I learn what I'm doing.
If you haven't notice we had a train birthday party. I guess for myself. It would have been much easier to have a Thomas the train party (so many plates, tablecloths, etc.), but I'm not too keen on character theme party's. So as some may say, I had the train party for myself.

my husband

My husband thought my last blog looked as if my father-in-law appeared to be my husband. So, I'm showing you a picture of my husband, now there's no question. What a sweet man he is, always looking out for me.

Father-in-law

I have married this absolutely wonderful man. He is compassionate, caring, sensitive, creative, loving and a wonderful father to our children. We have just found out recently that his father, my father-in-law has pancreatic cancer (stage 4). This brings tears to my eyes as I write this. My husband is all of these things (by the grace of God), but also because his father modeled it before him. To his wife, my mother-in-law, he is all of these things and more I'm sure. We love him so much and are praying for God to heal him every day. This is a battle, and one we will fight! Please pray with me that he will be healed from this disease and that God would give he and his wife the strength and courage to fight it every day.
This is a picture of my son and his poppy.

not perfect!

I am writing this because I want everyone who reads my blog to know that I am not perfect, nor do I want to seem perfect. I have days that I want to pull my hair out or just cut it all off. My house is never in an orderly manner. I hate organizing. I need lots of help in that area. Any tips, I'll treasure them. My best friend and mom have had breast cancer. My father-in-law has pancreatic cancer. Life is not perfect, I once again am not perfect, but Jesus is and oh how I long to be more like Him.

I am attempting to add a picture to this blog, so bare w/me.
Yeah, I think I've done it. Here are my two little ones. Dad was behind the camera.

goodness. It's been almost or over a month since I've blogged and guess what I haven't given my blogspot to anyone. I guess I'm writing it for myself. I'm really afraid of failing. I think that if I let anyone know that I have a blogspot then I would be accountable to keep up with it. I'm excited about doing this so I must get started. I've still got to learn to put pictures on here and share my family w/you all.
